Will Your Teen Make Money This Summer?

By: Joelle Davidson

Summer is coming. Most teens start thinking about earning extra money during the months between school terms. Is your teen looking for a J-O-B or is he or she thinking of starting a business?

Let’s look at the benefits of each to help you and him decide which way to go.

1. Income Potential
JOB: You’re guaranteed a set hourly income and only the amount of hours offered by the company.

Own Business: You earn money based upon your hard work, creativity and innovation. It is not guaranteed, but there is potential for more money if you work harder.

2. Schedule
JOB: Your boss determines your schedule. He or she may be flexible. Or not.

Own Business: You schedule your own hours. This may mean working more or less than an hourly job. You can work around your life schedule.

3. Pay scale
JOB: You can earn your hourly rate and not much more. The potential to earn more is dependent on whether or not the boss can give you more hours.

Own Business: You determine the value of the work you're doing and your asking price. You often can earn more money with fewer hours.

4. People
JOB: You may have a great boss and co-workers who you enjoy. Or not.

Own Business: You deal directly with your customers. You choose whom you do business with. Because your livelihood depends on it, you need to learn how to work with people well, even if you may not like them.

5. Experience
JOB: You get trained on the job.

Own Business: You teach yourself. The more you commit yourself to learning, the more your business will grow and develop.

It’s a tough choice. If your teen isn’t ready for starting a business completely on his own, then work together with him to make a family business a success. The key, however, is that he has to want it, or you'll be fighting a losing battle. Start the discussion with him now and see if his own business might be the right choice this summer.

The vast majority of teens will just get a job to start getting some quick cash, and therefore will never learn entrepreneurial skills.

Unfortunately, this can get them into the bad habit of keeping a job the rest of their life. Having a job will never give you financial freedom , because it will never provide you a long-term income stream.

Today, the vast majority of teens just go out and get a job, never even consider starting a business. This isn't their fault. Quick simply, the school systems do a very bad job of teaching kids entrepreneurial skills, and instead only teach them job skills.

Also, the schools do a very poor job teaching money and financial skills, another necessity for owning your own business. One of the best parts about this is that you don't even need a website to start promoting this: simply get an affiliate link three their clickbank or their own affiliate program, start posting ads on the Internet or even in e-mails. This is one of the best ways for teens to make money.

If you know a lot of people's emails, you can simply e-mail them and include the affiliate link at the bottom; also, you might post in forums and other places. Don't ever spam people; simply send them a legitimate email, and include the affiliate link in the bottom.

Money Making Ideas for Teens.

Author: Samantha Asher
We all want to make money. We need cash to buy the things we want and need. No matter how old you are, you want money to buy these things and you can’t just sit around and expect to get money to fall into your lap. That isn't how life works. In today's world, you have to earn your money.

For a teenager, making money can seem difficult. For a lot of jobs, especially the ones that pay well, you’re either too young, don’t have enough or any experience, or you hate the job. So then how do you make money?

You can make some money as a teen. Here are some tips and ideas for teens to earn some money:

Follow the tried and true. Babysitting, mowing lawns, and washing cars might seem too simple, but you can make a lot of money from them. You just need to know what you are doing, do it well, and find clients. Tell everyone you know you’re starting to baby-sit or you’re shoveling driveways, and before you know it, you’ll have so many customers, you can’t keep up! Once you have the customers, make sure you do an exceptional job so that you can keep them and get more customers through word of mouth. Remind them to tell their friends!

Sell what you know. Do you love to bake? Do you live near the local park? Why not try selling snacks. If you like to bake, you can sell cookies. If you are in a high traffic zone at a park, sell snacks and drinks.

Don’t forget the power of the internet. You can sell stuff on ebay. If you have a lot of books that you want to get rid of, sell them on ebay. You can get rid of your junk and make some extra dough as well.

Search for a job. Though getting a job, especially when you are young, can be hard or grueling, it is the easiest way to make money. When you work for an employer, they have to pay you. When you have your own business, you aren’t necessarily going to get paid. If you are still young, try asking family or friends that have small businesses if you can help them out. When you’re older check out supermarkets, retail stores, amusement parks, or any place that hires teens your age to get a job.

How Teens Can Earn Money This Weekend.

By Tim Eutin

Teens Can Earn Money This Weekend and Feel Good Doing It.

How many teens do you know that would like to earn $200 this weekend without working from dawn to dusk? If this is you then read on as I tell you how to earn $200 or more this weekend without breaking a sweat. Not only will you learn how to earn money, you will feel good about it as well.

Coldplay,Frotto, Mortal Combat,Shakera and the $200 day
I remember when I was getting ready for my first semester at college. I needed some cash to get ready for school. I needed to earn money quick. I looked around my room at everything I had to pack for school and kept thinking bout how to make some money - fast! I packed a few things and would stop and think, " How can I earn some extra money this weekend?"

As I was packing my CD's wondering if I should even take them. I had already added them to my iTunes when the flashing light of inspiration hit me! Sell the CD's and pocket the cash!

I had at least 100 CD's that I didn't need. I could sell them and earn money. I looked around and thought about other things that I had that I didn't need anymore.

My old PS2 was sitting on the shelf. I hadn't played with it since I got the Xbox 360. So it was gone, along with all of the games, about 20 of them.

Next my eyes settled on my guitar. It was my first electric guitar. I came with a little amp. It had been in my closet for so long I almost forgot I had it. I never did learn to play it and I doubted if I ever would. It was history. Gone in the name of earning money.

Well I finally had a small stack of items to get rid of , CD's, DVD's, the PlayStation and games, the guitar and amp. Now to sell them. I thought of having a yard sale but the weather was calling for rain all weekend. I needed to earn money fast. I couldn't wait until next week.

To The Second Hand Store We Go To Earn Easy Money!
Then I remembered the second hand store. They bought and sold used items. My friends and I used to shop there for cheap movies to watch. So I packed everything into my car and headed out.

I got to the store and asked for the manager. I told her that I had some things to sell. She looked at everything that I had and said that she would buy it all for $175. I told her that I really wanted $225. After all there were 103 CD's and the PS2 plus a guitar. She said the most she could do was $200. I said, "Deal" and she counted out 10 crisp twenty-dollar bills.

I had earned money and had gotten rid of some stuff that I didn't need. It felt great to earn the money and it felt great to be rid of some stuff that was just taking up space. My room looked cleaner and I knew that I wouldn't have to pack as much for school. Sweet!

So if you need to earn money fast. Look around your room and see what is just taking up space. Look for things that you don't need, want or use. Haul them off to the local second hand store and get rid off them. It's a great way for teens to earn money fast.

Ways For Teens To Make Money.

By Ken Nobo

Okay, so you are a teenager and you want to make some money for change and you don't want to work at McDonalds for eight dollars an hour.

No problem, because I am going to show you some quick cash methods without resorting to a job such as mowing the neighborhoods lawn or babysitting (because that is hard work right? Ha ha)

An easy way for teens to make money is to teach old people how to use the computer.

What you do is you print out a simple flyer such as "How to use your computer to surf the Internet and watch video. Personal tutor only $10 an hour!"

Print out the ad, and then go to the area of your town where old people live, such as the community retirement home center or at the laundry mat and those poster ads everywhere. Another good place to advertise is the grocery store.

Sit back and wait for phone calls. The reason being, old people have plenty of free time (and money) and they don't really know how to use computers -- so it is your chance to help them and make money going at it.

A few words of caution though. I recommend you post your cell phone number on the flyer because you don't want to give your home phone number to strangers.

Another thing is to talk to the person on the phone somewhere in a public place such as a coffee shop. Do you feel safe talking to the person? If not, don't teach them.

Another thing is that you don't have to come over to their house to teach them how to use the computer. You can tutor the person in at a public library.

Ken Nobo wishes you the best of luck on making money. :)
